Quality Assurance

At McLean Buchanan & Wilson Ltd we are continually striving for improvements in both the products and services that we provide to our Customers. To this end we have implemented a third party certified Quality Management System (QMS) since 1989 and are currently registered to BS EN ISO9001:2000 by BSI Management Systems (Certificate Number 000506).

In line with our QMS, batch traceability and product certification for relevant product ranges are meticulously maintained. All structural grade 8.8 and 10.9 fasteners, High Strength Friction Grip fasteners and Direct Tension Indicators (Load Indicating Washers) are test certified and batch traceable.  We hold full manufacturer’s chemical and mechanical property test certificates to BS EN 10204 3.1b.  Supporting documentation is held on record for a minimum of 12 years. Batch traceability and certification is also available, when requested, for other products depending on customer requirements.

To ensure continuing service of the highest possible quality, we assess and regularly monitor all of our suppliers and have developed close and long standing relationships with many of them.

Our goods-receiving inspection procedures are robustly implemented by our dedicated Stock Management Team which has a range of calibrated test equipment available to check incoming product for compliance with order instructions, national and international specifications and customer drawings. Tests can be carried out to verify Dimensional and fit criteria, Mechanical properties and plating thickness.

All picked orders are checked for correctness by trained personnel and in accordance with our Quality Assurance Procedures prior to despatch.
